What are exosomes?

"Exosome" is one of the most-searched terms in regenerative medicine — and one of the most loosely used. Scientifically, exosomes are a subtype of extracellular vesicle that originate inside cells; in practice, many products labelled "exosomes" are mixtures of particles whose contents are not fully characterised.
